Some British fans or fans who share their ideals can be so self-entitled, when it comes to HOA. I’ve seen so many of them complain about American characters and how they have powers or “we don’t need another American character b/c it’s a boarding school in the UK like duh”. As a past confessioner stated, HOA is a British-American-Belgian teen drama. If it was just a British-Belgian drama there would be no Americans at all. I doubt it would be airing on American television. The writers added Americans to make them feel included since this is NOT just a British-Belgian series but a British-American-Belgian. Nina and Eddie being American having powers/abilities are nothing but coincidences. Nina is American b/c they needed Patricia to be suspicious of her but the character in general was always going to be the Chosen One. Eddie is the Osirion b/c they needed a new obstacle for the Fabina relationship in season 3. And they didn’t want Eddie and Nina’s only connection to be about how they both come from the same country. It’s just frustrating seeing people embrace Willow b/c “she totes one of us” but b/c KT is an American she gets spitted on b/c she’s obviously taking away screen time from 8 other British characters and is just a Nina replacement. Even though she has a different name, and a different personality, and has just made HOA have 2 Americans again. I’m just embarrassed that people in my home country are so childish, insensitive, and are so inconsiderate on how their words come across to other fans.
